Holiday: All Chicago Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2012 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Mad Scientist Program: The Mad Scientist Program will begin on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. All interested students and parents should sign up as soon as possible.
Science Instead of School: Join Mad Science for a day of fun on January 27, 2012 at The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, 5480 S. Kenwood Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost of the program is $65. Registration is online at www.madscience.org/chicago.
No School: School will not be in session for students on Friday, January 27, 2012. This is the end of the second quarter and a professional development day for teachers.
Excused Cause of Absence Procedures: A parental reminder: Students may be legitimately absent for the following reasons:
1. family emergency
2. sickness
3. death in immediate family
4. religious holiday
5. circumstances causing reasonable concern to the parent for the
student's health or safety or other situations beyond the control
of the student, as determined by the principal.
Parent Portal/Gradebook - Grades 1-6 It is very important that parents monitor their child's grades through the parent portal system. You can access this system through our website or through http://www.cps.edu/. If you would like to have a parent conference with a teacher concerning assignments or grades, please do not hesitate to call the school and schedule a meeting or leave a message for that particular teacher. If you are having trouble logging into parent portal, please call the office for assistance.
