Welcome to Kindergarten-Mrs. Boncy

Dear Parents:

Welcome to the most influential year your child will have in his/her education! Kindergarten is an exciting time as your child will experience new adventures in the world of learning. This will be a year of transitions as well as acquisition of new skills.

During Kindergarten, your child will enhance their skills in Reading, write stories and poetry, add, subtract, measure, tell time, and so much more. We hope to make your child’s first full academic day learning experience a fun and exciting one, and we hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling.

So much happens in Kindergarten! Because of this, parents as well as children may have some apprehension about what will happen. It is extremely important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his or her own rate, acquiring skills as he or she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority in our Kindergarten class.

I plan to talk with you frequently, informally and at scheduled conferences. Your insight and support will help me meet your child’s individual needs.

Please share your time, skills, and ideas with us in any way you can. Your child will benefit from your involvement, and the entire class as well.

I am looking forward to our partnership.
