Dear Parents,

   We are 6 weeks into our school year.  The first progress reports were already sent home.  I put the report in their homework folder myself so if you have not seen it, ask them where it went.  Please continue to check book bags and homework folders on a nightly basis.  The Agendas and homework should be signed. 

    I will be available daily between 8 and 8:45 AM.  I usually leave pretty close to 3PM.  Please see me during this time frame if you need to talk.  If your child is disruptive, I will contact you.

Primary Rubic and Homework Policy

   We follow the grading guidelines set by CPS.     

90-100   A         80-89   B          70-79   C       60-69   D      59-below    F

   If your child is absent 1 or 2 days, he/she will have 24 hours to turn in assignments.  If he/she is absent 3 or more days, we will modify all the assignments that need to be completed and they will all have to be turned in within 48 hours.

   If your child is sitting in the classroom and chooses NOT to do the assignment and turn it in on time, there will be NO MAKEUP of that assignment.  He/she will receive a failing grade for that assignment.  We will encourage him/her several times to complete it.  We will also make a phone call to you for YOU to encourage him/her to complete it.

Book orders- 

   Book order forms will be sent home monthly.  I do not do the "on line" book forms as it is too confusing for me and parents.  You can write a check to the book club for the amount of the books, which is easier for me.  I encourage you to get books and pick books that are above their reading level.  The 1 month I do not send order forms is usually December.  I understand that is an expensive month for ALL of US.  The first order form will be sent home soon.

Class Calendar

Oct. 12- Progress reports will be sent home

Oct. 27- Lucky book orders due.  Please put money and form in an envelope.

Oct. 28- No classes

Nov.1-30 - Our class says the pledge and announcements

Nov. 10- No School

Nov. 11- No school

Nov. 16- Report card pickup - no students

Nov. 18- Staff Dev. No school for students

Nov. 24-25- Thanksgiving break
